On Friday 15th May AIB Dublin RFC celebrated 40 years in existence and over 100 current and past-players attended the event
The event was MC’d by Mark Battams with Simon Scroope (Club President) giving a superb welcome speech reminding the attendees of the importance of the club and the great achievement of reaching 40 years in existence.
He was followed by club stalwart Tom Magner who shared his memories of the club and remembered some club members who had sadly passed away, including Dermot O’Mahony, Dave O’Keeffe, Brendan Brophy and the Eoin Heraty.
Philip ‘Harpo’ Murphy proceeded to entertain the crowd with some true (ish) stories, jokes and personal anecdotes. A number of attendees including Sean Hogan, Paul Markey, Tomas Kennedy and Dara Heraty were singled out for particular attention by Harpo.
A commemoration tie was also given to all attendees and recollections of tries scored, tackles made and trophies won went on long into the night….
The event was a fantastic, incredible, unbelievable success!!!!
